New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart Gabby Otchere-Darko has sharply criticized those who believe in the authenticity of the controversial “Agyapadeɛ” document.
He described such beliefs as irrational and questioned the intelligence of those who support the claims.
The “Agyapadeɛ” document, a 38-page text with an unidentified author, is alleged to outline a plot for state capture by influential figures of Akyem descent.
The cover features the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, while inside images of President Nana Akufo-Addo and his father, former President Edward Akufo-Addo, are depicted. The document purportedly lays out a strategy to elevate the Akyem kingdom as the most powerful in Ghana.
Otchere-Darko, in an interview on Channel One TV on Tuesday, August 13, dismissed the claims surrounding the document, asserting that they are based on a lack of critical analysis.
He strongly rebuked the notion that a prominent family, with one of its members leading the country, would conspire against the nation and document such a plot.
He stated, “If any intelligent person, or a person who considers themselves intelligent, believes that a family with one of their leaders being offered the opportunity to lead the country would sit down and conspire evil against the nation and put the picture of the overlord or the head of the family on that document, you must have your head examined.”
He further criticized those who see connections between events described in the document and current political developments, labelling such interpretations as “imbecilic” and based on a “non-analytical appreciation of what is in that fiction.”
