The Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, Kofi Adams, has called on Ghanaians to hold the country’s leadership accountable for the failure to address illegal small-scale mining, known as galamsey.
The responsibility for the crisis, he said, lies squarely with President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Speaking on TV3’s Key Points program on Saturday, September 7 the Buem MP, Kofi Adams cautioned against broadly blaming politicians, stating that it only deflects responsibility from those in power.
He said, “When we say politicians have failed, we give comfort to those who are in leadership and have the responsibility to address our problems.”
