He affirmed that no candidate would be imposed on Ghanaians against their will.
During a meeting with the Apostolic Nuncio, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of a peaceful elections and maintaining Ghana’s democratic integrity post-election.
He stressed that the selection of a leader is the sovereign right of the people and assured that this democratic principle would be upheld during his tenure.
“We are committed to ensuring the December elections are free, fair, and credible. We reject the notion that any group can manipulate the will of the people to impose a leader on them.”
“The choice of a leader must be an unreserved and unqualified exercise of the sovereign will of the population. We will do everything in our power to ensure that the upcoming elections truly reflect the will of our people,” President Akufo-Addo stated
