Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has warned the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to vomit all the loot they have grabbed before leaving power.
He emphasized that there will be “no hiding place” for NPP officials regarding their accountability for governance.
During a strategic meeting in Atlanta, USA, ahead of the 2024 elections, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah accused the NPP of mismanagement and corruption and urged President Nana Akufo-Addo and his associates to rectify their wrongdoings before facing severe consequences under a new NDC government.
He compared the NPP’s situation to “riding a tiger,” where stepping down could mean political devastation, highlighting the party’s peril whether in power or out.
Asserting the NDC’s commitment to national integrity, Asiedu Nketiah called for full accountability, stating that the time to “vomit all the loot” was now, or face stringent actions post-election.
He reiterated this message through a parable about an old man tightly holding onto a key to his safe, which was eventually taken after his death, symbolizing inevitability.
Addressing the NDC supporters, he urged not to be complacent despite favourable polls, describing the electoral battle against the NPP as one against a “wounded tiger.”
He stressed the importance of relentless effort until the NDC secures a definitive electoral victory, underscoring the critical need for vigilance and hard work.
