A dramatic shift in voter preferences has emerged across all educational backgrounds, with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) making significant gains at the expense of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), according to fresh data released by Global Info Analytics.

New poll

The new poll, conducted in June 2025, reveals a deepening erosion of support for the NPP across key education categories, most notably among voters without formal education. Among this group, NPP support has plummeted from 42% in November 2024 to just 29%—a staggering 13-point drop. Meanwhile, support for the NDC in the same demographic soared by 16 points, from 32% to 48%.

Voters with Junior High School (JHS) qualifications also showed a clear shift. NPP’s backing among this group dropped from 35% to 27%, while NDC support surged from 31% to 52%, marking a 21-point turnaround.

Among those with Senior High School (SHS) education, NPP support saw a slight dip from 35% to 34%, while the NDC rose from 36% to 40%. Tertiary-educated voters mirrored this trend: NPP declined from 30% to 27%, while NDC support climbed from 35% to 43%.

The data also indicates a shrinking base of floating voters across the board, suggesting that many undecided voters from November 2024 have now aligned with the NDC. Among JHS holders, the floating voter count dropped from 19% to 13%, while tertiary and SHS levels saw similar declines—from 21% to 18% and 19% to 17%, respectively. Among voters without formal education, the floating vote dipped sharply from 16% to 9%.

These numbers signal a growing momentum for the NDC ahead of the 2025 general elections, as economic concerns and cost-of-living issues continue to influence voter behavior. The gains appear to be driven largely by disenchantment with the NPP and a consolidation of support among previously undecided voters.
