“We are sincerely grateful to the people of Ghana, our traditional leaders, the clergy, Muslim clerics, civil society, the diplomatic community, political leaders, the security services, and everyone who stood with us in this painful moment,” the statement read.

President Mahama acknowledged the comforting messages from citizens and dignitaries, as well as the massive turnout at the recent state funeral in honour of the eight fallen officers.

“Your messages of sympathy, your presence at the funeral rites, your generous support to the bereaved families, as well as your acts of kindness, reassured us that we are one people with a shared destiny,” he noted.

The Presidency also paid special tribute to state institutions and corporate organisations for their swift response and logistical support.

“We especially thank those who worked tirelessly and the corporate organisations that helped ensure that the victims were accorded a dignified, befitting Ghanaian burial — one that truly reflects our national compassion,” the President added.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff has directed that Ghana flags across all public buildings be restored to full mast following the conclusion of the state funeral and burial rites.

He urged the nation to turn towards healing and rebuilding, stating, “As we return to the duties of resetting Ghana and building the country we want, let us continue to comfort one another and support the affected families through prayer and solidarity.”
