A special Thanksgiving service was held in honour of Supreme Court Judge Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo at his local church, Fountain of Glory Assemblies of God, Spintex, Accra.

Justice Ackaah-Boafo is among the seven judges of the Court of Appeal recently sworn in by President John Dramani Mahama to serve on the Supreme Court.

In a sermon, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, admonished judges to seek the wisdom and fear of God in the discharge of their duties. He stressed that they must also “possess a heart of discernment” to remain faithful to their calling.

Rev. Wengam noted that given the critical and sensitive nature of their work, Supreme Court judges must continually nurture their spiritual lives to ensure they deliver “true justice.”

He congratulated the new Supreme Court Justice during the service and anointed him, before leading a team of pastors to pray for his success on the Bench.

Justice Ackaah-Boafo is recognised for several landmark rulings, including a high-profile medical negligence case in which the 37 Military Hospital was held liable for the death of a 27-year-old PhD student after childbirth.
