Senator Ned Nwoko has responded to recent posts by actress Regina Daniels regarding her alleged separation from their children, describing her claims as “misleading and inconsistent with long-established family practices.”

Nwoko clarified that Daniels’ absence from the children’s lives has been by choice, not by force.

“The children have not been hidden from her,” he said, adding that they have been cared for in a stable environment prioritising routine and emotional well-being.

He emphasised that encouraging Daniels to undergo rehabilitation is not punishment, but a measure to ensure the children have a parent who is emotionally present and mentally stable.

The senator referenced previous court rulings in his favour, which directed that Daniels must undergo drug rehabilitation and be assessed by the Abuja Social Welfare Department before access to their sons, Munir (5) and Khalifa (3), can be restored.

The case has been adjourned to 4 February 2026 for the hearing of the substantive suit. The court also dismissed the fundamental rights action filed against Nwoko and the Nigeria Police.

“Despite these outcomes, the family chose not to publicise the court’s decisions to allow her privacy and dignity while seeking therapy,” Nwoko said.

He warned that Regina Daniels’ recent posts risk using the children as emotional shields for personal matters, rather than focusing on their well-being.
