The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has praised President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, stating that the country is moving in the right direction under his leadership.
Speaking in a viral video cited by Citi News on X on Sunday, December 28, the traditional ruler stressed that although he has no political affiliation with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and does not intend to support the party, he believes President Mahama’s policies are positively repositioning the nation.

“I will never support the NDC, I am not affiliated with the NDC and I will not support them till I die. I have even been a member of the NPP before. But the way President Mahama is governing the country, anyone who says Ghana is not headed in the right direction is not being truthful,” he stated.
He particularly highlighted improvements in Ghana’s economic indicators, noting that the cedi currently trades at GH¢11.49 to the dollar, suggesting relative stability in the foreign exchange market since President Mahama assumed office.
The Dormaahene also acknowledged steps taken to address longstanding financial burdens, including the President’s directive to the Ministry of Finance to release GH¢1 billion to contractors owed since 2017. The move, he said, is expected to support ongoing projects, clear arrears, and stimulate economic activity.
