Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has recovered from recent political setbacks and is now bouncing back more forcefully as it reorganises ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking at a Minority Caucus strategy workshop on Tuesday, Annoh-Dompreh said the party’s renewed internal cohesion, structured parliamentary coordination, and intensified grassroots engagement demonstrate a stronger and more resilient opposition force.
He noted that despite operating as a Minority in Parliament, the NPP caucus has become more strategic, disciplined, and effective in holding the government accountable.

According to him, recent months have shown improved unity within the caucus, with MPs increasingly working together on parliamentary debates, committee work, and public communication strategies.
“We have bounced back stronger, more agile, and better coordinated than before,” he indicated, stressing that the party’s internal rebuilding efforts were yielding results.
Annoh-Dompreh emphasised that the party’s post-primary healing process and caucus engagement programmes have strengthened trust among members and improved performance in Parliament.
Mentorship systems for first-time MPs, he said, and structured leadership roles on committees have enhanced legislative effectiveness and improved the Minority’s visibility on national issues.
He added that the caucus has also strengthened its communication strategy to respond swiftly to government policies and national debates.
The Minority Chief Whip criticised the government’s economic management, citing debates around the Bank of Ghana’s 2025 financial statements and cocoa producer pricing.
He argued that key policy decisions had placed pressure on vulnerable groups, including farmers and public sector workers, and called for stronger government intervention to cushion affected citizens.
Annoh-Dompreh urged members of the caucus to remain focused on consolidating gains and preparing for what he described as a decisive political contest in 2028.
According to him, the party’s objective is to present a credible alternative to Ghanaians, backed by stronger internal organisation and consistent parliamentary engagement.
“The NPP has bounced back more forcefully, and we must sustain this momentum with unity and discipline,” he stated.
Prominent members of the party, including the flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Second Deputy Speaker Joe Ghartey, and several other leading figures, are expected to join the two-day workshop and make presentations.
