NPP fixes September 19 for National Delegates Conference to elect officers

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced Saturday, 19 September 2026, as the date for its National Delegates Conference, at which the party will elect its National Officers.

In a statement dated 8 July 2026, the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said the conference would be held pursuant to Article 10(1) of the Party Constitution, under which delegates are mandated to elect National Officers.

According to the statement, the decision to hold the conference on the stated date was taken by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and was subsequently approved by the National Council at their respective meetings held on Thursday, 25 June 2026.

Ahead of the conference, the General Secretary, acting pursuant to Article 19(2) of the Party Constitution, has formally invited proposals for amendments to the party’s constitution.

The statement said all proposed amendments should be submitted to the Office of the General Secretary at the party’s National Headquarters, or transmitted electronically via nppconstitutionalamendment@gmail.com. The deadline for the submission of all proposals is Friday, 17 July 2026.

The party has encouraged all members and stakeholders to take advantage of the constitutional review process by submitting proposals that will further strengthen the party’s structures, enhance its internal democratic processes, and promote effective governance.

The statement added that, as the NPP prepares for its National Delegates Conference, it remains committed to constitutionalism, internal democracy, and the rule of law, ensuring adherence to the Party Constitution and its democratic traditions.
