A group of aggrieved delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Trobu Constituency has accused the national leadership of failing to address concerns over the alleged removal of qualified members from the party’s electoral album.

In an open letter dated 14th July, 2026 to the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the delegates said they were compelled to speak out over what they described as the disregard for the party’s constitution and the rights of grassroots members.

According to the group, some party members who had met all constitutional requirements were allegedly removed from the electoral album, effectively denying them the opportunity to participate in internal party elections.

The delegates claimed that petitions submitted to the National Executive Committee, the Regional Executive Committee and other party leadership structures failed to produce any resolution.

They further alleged that after seeking legal redress, party leaders persuaded them to withdraw the court action with assurances that the matter would be resolved internally.

However, the delegates said the promised resolution did not materialise, forcing them to return to court. They noted that the case is scheduled to be heard on Thursday.

The group also questioned the decision to proceed with constituency elections on Wednesday despite the pending court case, arguing that the move undermines due process.

The delegates urged the General Secretary to uphold the party’s constitution and respect the rule of law, insisting that internal disputes should be resolved fairly and transparently.

They further stressed the need for leadership that protects the interests of ordinary party members while strengthening unity within the NPP.

They insisted that grassroots members remain committed to the ideals of the party and expect its leaders to uphold democratic principles and constitutional governance.
