Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema is set to begin a three-day state visit to Ghana from Tuesday, July 28 to Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the invitation of President John Dramani Mahama.
The visit is expected to strengthen diplomatic relations between Ghana and Gabon and deepen cooperation across several key sectors, including trade, investment, mining, energy and agriculture.
According to a statement issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Presidential Spokesman and Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, President Nguema will arrive in Ghana with a high-level delegation comprising government ministers, senior officials and members of the Gabonese business community.

The statement described the Gabonese President’s state visit to Ghana as an important milestone in the growing bilateral relations between the two countries.
President Nguema is scheduled to hold a tête-à -tête meeting with President Mahama at the Jubilee House in Accra on July 28. The meeting will be followed by official bilateral talks between the two sides.
The discussions will provide an opportunity for the two leaders to assess the current state of relations between Ghana and Gabon and identify new areas of cooperation beyond their existing political and diplomatic engagements.
Key areas expected to feature in the bilateral discussions include trade and investment, mining, energy, agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
The two countries are also expected to explore opportunities for greater collaboration in maritime affairs, transport, tourism, education, health, defence and security.
Environmental protection and climate action are also expected to form part of the discussions, alongside efforts to promote stronger people-to-people exchanges between the citizens of Ghana and Gabon.
The visit comes as both countries seek to deepen economic and diplomatic ties and expand opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The statement said Presidents Mahama and Nguema would reaffirm their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting sustainable economic development for the mutual benefit of the peoples of Ghana and Gabon.
The Gabonese President’s state visit to Ghana is therefore expected to provide a platform for both countries to identify practical areas of collaboration and strengthen their partnership in sectors with the potential to contribute to economic growth and development.
President Nguema’s engagement with Ghanaian officials and members of the business community is also expected to encourage stronger private-sector connections and create opportunities for increased trade and investment between the two countries.
