The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers, Adams Adder Almeida and Bala Bilyon, in connection with the alleged murder of a man and the shooting of his wife at Tuba near Weija in the Greater Accra Region.
The tragic incident occurred on August 6, 2026, at Beach Drive Estate, leaving one person dead and another hospitalized. Police have since retrieved a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting, and investigations are ongoing.
On the evening of August 6, 2026, the Weija Police received a distress call reporting that a man and his wife had been shot at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba. A rapid response team was dispatched to the scene, where they found Mohammed Rahman, 54, and his wife, Christiana Fosu, 53, with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment.

The victims were immediately rushed to Finney Hospital in Weija. Tragically, Mohammed Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival. His wife, Christiana Fosu, was referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for advanced treatment and is currently on admission, responding positively to medical care.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
During interrogation, Adams Adder Almeida, one of the suspects, allegedly admitted to shooting both victims. According to police sources, the suspect claimed he was motivated by a long-standing grievance.
The suspect reportedly told investigators that the deceased had repeatedly described him as “lazy and useless,” which he claimed had taken a significant toll on his mental health. This perceived humiliation, he alleged, drove him to commit the fatal attack on August 6.
In a breakthrough for investigators, suspect Adams Adder Almeida led police to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was retrieved.
The weapon was allegedly concealed beneath the wardrobe of his brother, Bala Bilyon, who also works with the deceased. Investigations further established that the two brothers reside together in the same room at Tuba.
Adams Adder Almeida further informed investigators that the pistol was given to him by a friend identified only as Gideon. He subsequently led the investigative team to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but he was not found at home.
Police have confirmed that efforts are ongoing to locate Gideon to assist with investigations. Meanwhile, Bala Bilyon has also been arrested and is being interrogated for his possible involvement in the crime.
The Accra Regional Police Command, with the assistance of the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET), confirmed the arrests in an official statement. The police have assured the public that thorough investigations are underway to ensure all perpetrators are brought to justice.
