President John Dramani Mahama has urged international investors to explore investment opportunities in Ghana, assuring them that the country remains open to partnerships with all nations, regardless of their political or economic affiliations.
He stressed that Ghana is not interested in taking sides in geopolitical rivalries but is focused on securing investment partnerships that deliver mutual benefits and fair returns for both investors and the country.
Speaking at the Financial Times Africa Summit 2026, President Mahama said Ghana’s foreign policy of non-alignment positioned the country to maintain friendly relations with major global powers while attracting investments to accelerate economic growth.

Ghana, he said, welcomes investors from the United States, the European Union, China and Russia, emphasising that the government’s priority is to create opportunities for economic cooperation rather than engage in competition among global powers.
“We are friends to all and enemies to none. And Ghana’s policy of non-alignment has served us well, and so we welcome investors from all over the world,” he said.
The President added that investment decisions should be driven by the potential for mutually beneficial outcomes rather than geopolitical considerations.
“It is not about competition. It is about investment and a fair return to everybody, including ourselves. And so that is the condition. There is no competition. We are as friendly to America, to the EU, to China, and to Russia,” President Mahama said.
By reaffirming Ghana’s non-aligned foreign policy, President Mahama has assured prospective investors that the country’s doors remain open to businesses from across the world, provided their investments offer fair and sustainable returns to both sides.
