The Krontihene of Akyem Asuom, Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, has passionately expressed his hope that Ghana never experiences another presidency like that of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to Nana Abodade III, the nation has endured significant challenges during President Akufo-Addo’s administration, which he described as poorly managed and marred by corruption among government appointees.
Speaking to the media, he voiced relief that President Akufo-Addo’s term was nearing its end, with just over a week remaining.
Krontihene’s prayer
“We thank God that the good Lord is about to hand the mantle to President Mahama. As stated in Luke 10:29, Ghana has been stripped bare, left bleeding as robbers took all her treasures.”
“But now, a good Samaritan has come to heal her wounds, restore her strength, and recover the stolen wealth. Many of us are grateful this era is ending,” Nana Abodade III stated.
He also stressed dissatisfaction among chiefs regarding what they perceived as disrespect from President Akufo-Addo during his tenure.
“Many chiefs are relieved. A friend of mine, also a chief, remarked, ‘Let’s see if he [Akufo-Addo] will still go around demanding chiefs stand to greet him.”
“It’s not a legacy to be proud of. He had ample resources and opportunities to uplift the nation but failed to do so. We sincerely pray Ghana never has another leader like him. Now, we thank God that President Mahama is set to take over,” he added.
