President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will preside over a National Honours and Awards ceremony to celebrate individuals who have made exceptional contributions and demonstrated selfless service to Ghana.
Today’s ceremony is set to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre, with nominees expected to be seated by 11:00 a.m., according to a letter signed by Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare.
It will mark one of his final official acts as he leaves office on January 7.
The dress code for the prestigious event is formal or traditional attire, with recommendations including Kente, Fugu, or suits, reflecting the nation’s cultural richness and the formal tone of the occasion.
Nominees can bring up to two family members to share in the moment.
Each nominee has received a personal invitation card signed by President Akufo-Addo, underscoring the significance of their recognition.
The National Honours and Awards Ceremony highlights Ghana’s appreciation for individuals whose remarkable achievements and dedication have significantly contributed to the nation’s progress.

The awards are categorized into five distinct honours:
- Order of the Star and Eagles of Ghana
- Order of the Star of Ghana
- Order of the Volta
- The Medal for Gallantry
- The Grand Medal
