National Security operatives have intercepted a significant stash of counterfeit currencies and suspected gold bars hidden within twelve 20-foot shipping containers.
Acting on a tip-off, officers raised a warehouse in Sapeiman, located in the Ga South Municipality, where they uncovered the illegal cargo.
Upon inspection, authorities found bundles of fake US dollars concealed inside wooden boxes, which had been placed within cement to evade detection.
The operation yielded additional items, including counterfeit Ghanaian cedi notes, as well as fake Ghana Army uniforms and boots, raising further security concerns.
Authorities have confirmed that two of the containers remain unaccounted for, and intensified efforts are underway to locate them.
In the meantime, a manhunt has been initiated for four individuals, including a suspected ringleader identified only as Alhaji.
National Security has assured the public that investigations are ongoing to dismantle the operation and bring all responsible parties to justice.
