The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) celebrated National Chocolate Day by presenting chocolates to Advanced Home Healthcare, highlighting the company’s exemplary compliance with workers’ pension contributions.
Michael Asante Nimo, SSNIT Airport branch manager, during the presentation on Friday, February 14, 2025, praised the indigenous Ghanaian startup for its consistent and prompt payment of employee social security contributions.
“She has been one of our loyal employers who pay contributions promptly for all her workers. Whether big or small, we encourage all employers to ensure their workers are enrolled in the scheme so that their future can be secured,” he said.
Nimo stressed that SSNIT is the only pension scheme in Ghana providing lifelong pension benefits. He urged employers across all sectors – private, corporate, and self-employed – to prioritize employee social security enrollment.
“Today someone is strong and working. Tomorrow, they might not be,” Nimo cautioned, underlining the importance of long-term financial planning.
The chocolate presentation is part of SSNIT’s ongoing initiative to appreciate and encourage employers who consistently meet their social security obligations, with previous events targeting market women and other small businesses.
Araba Biney, CEO of Advanced Home Healthcare, emphasized her dedication to following legal and ethical practices.
“I wanted to help my workers secure their future. From the beginning, I started paying their SSNIT contributions. As a Christian, I believe in giving ‘to Caesar what belongs to Caesar’,” she explained.
