Legal practitioner and social commentator, Martin Kpebu, has confidently projected that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) will win the 2028 general elections, citing historical voting trends, public sentiment, and growing political accountability.

He dismissed the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) chances in 2028, describing the election as a ‘no-brainer’ for the NDC unless it commits extraordinary political blunders.

2028 elections

“I can say without any equivocation that the 2028 elections certainly don’t belong to the NPP. You can’t wipe out a 1.6 million vote deficit in one electoral cycle unless the NDC misbehaves extremely – and it doesn’t look like they will,” he stated.

Speaking on TV3’s Saturday political talkshow, ‘The Key Points’, Mr. Kpebu argued that after the political and economic challenges under the NPP, public trust has tilted heavily in favour of the NDC. He indicated that the lessons from governance under the Akufo-Addo administration have created a stronger, more aware electorate.

“You see, those days, ministers carried themselves like demigods. But today, look at Felix Ofosu Kwakye, he sits here plainly, no airs, because he knows he’s here because we gave him a mandate.”

He added that political appointees now show greater humility and accountability, which he credits to the maturity of Ghana’s democracy and increased civic awareness.
