The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced it is investigating 67 high-profile cases of suspected corruption and related offences across public and private institutions.
In its half-year report, the OSP said the probes span natural resources, aviation, education, payroll, procurement, health, sports, utilities, and land management.

A major focus is the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) between 2020 and 2024, covering Agyapa Royalties, small-scale mining programmes, value-addition projects, lithium and gold operations, board spending, land deals, and publications, targeting current and former officials plus firms including Asante Gold, ElectroChem, Goldridge, GIG Minerals, RCM Properties, Energy & Resources Co., Goldstrom, and BH Minerals.
Other key investigations include contracts at Ghana Airports Company; GES over alleged sale of appointment letters; National Commission on Culture for extortion; GRA/TATA over ITAS procurement; recruitment corruption at National Service Authority; Ministry of Health’s ambulance service deal; the National Cathedral; TOR and Tema Energy; and ECG’s cancelled contract with BXC.
Payroll probes with the Controller and Accountant General exposed GH¢2.85 million in unearned salaries in the Northern Region alone — saving GH¢34.2 million annually, with six convictions secured.
Land cases target sales and leases of state and stool lands since 1993, plus illegal mining involving IMCIM, Akonta Mining, and foreign nationals.
Further probes include contracts at National Sports Authority, Ghana Water, GRA Customs, Bank of Ghana’s banking crisis response, and the estate of Sir John over forestry lands.
The Special Prosecutor added that beyond the 67 active probes, 152 other cases are in preliminary assessment and will be disclosed only upon meeting its prosecutorial mandate.
