The Ministry of Health has secured 33,600 doses of MPOX vaccines to strengthen Ghana’s fight against the viral disease.
Making the revelation on X, Health Minister, Hon. Kwamena Mintah Akandoh, described the acquisition as a significant milestone in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of citizens.
An update from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) indicates that as of July 18, 2025, the country has recorded 16 new cases, bringing the total confirmed infections to 234.
MPOX, according to health officials, spreads mainly through close contact with infected persons.
