Former Assin North MP, Kennedy Agyapong, says he is shedding his confrontational style to embrace solution-driven leadership as he pursues the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership.

In a social media post, the outspoken Assin Central legislator admitted his reputation for blunt speech and fiery outbursts, but stressed that Ghana now needs constructive leadership.

“You know me. You’ve heard me speak my mind for years—sometimes with fire, because I love this country.”

“But I’ve come to understand that the skills needed to expose a problem are different from the skills needed to solve it,” he wrote.

Agyapong declared that his new focus is to champion development and create opportunities for Ghanaian youth.

“The Bible teaches us that there is a season for everything. My season of fiery talk has given way to a season of focused action. The old Ken fought for you. The new Ken will build with you,” he said.

His statement comes as old videos of his sharp attacks on fellow politicians continue to circulate online, rekindling debate about his combative approach to politics.

Positioning himself ahead of the 2028 general elections, Agyapong is now pitching himself as a pragmatic leader ready to move from criticism to nation-building.
