Hon. David Theophilus Dominic Vondee, the Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti Morkwa, has issued a public apology after his comments on a viral video involving the Assistant Headmaster of KNUST SHS and a female student were widely criticised.
The MP explained that during a media discussion on Adom TV on Wednesday, September 30, his remarks were misrepresented to suggest that he supported the tutor’s conduct.

“Adom TV took portions of my statement out of context, and it was presented as though I sided with the tutor. That was never the case,” Vondee stressed. “If that video brought any discomfort to anybody, I apologise for that comment.”
He clarified in an interview in Parliament that while the footage did not explicitly show the Assistant Headmaster forcing himself on the girl, his point was that the act was morally and criminally wrong regardless of appearances.
“It was immoral, it was criminal for a headteacher to go after a student entrusted in his care,” he emphasised. “I even thought the punishment given to him was too small.”
Hon. Vondee accused the station of selective reporting. “They ignored my condemnation of the act and only aired the part where I said the video did not show force. That was unfair and damaging to my reputation.”
He urged parents and policymakers to tighten controls over children’s access to inappropriate online content. “Social media exposure is corrupting our kids. I call on parents and the Minister of Information to help regulate this.”
The MP reassured his constituents and Ghanaians of his firm stance against misconduct involving minors. “I have daughters in school myself. I will never support any teacher who abuses their position of trust.”
Hon Vondee urged the public to review the entire video of the program to understand his true position.
