Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has officially launched his nationwide campaign tour following the clearance of all flagbearer aspirants by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) vetting committee.
The tour, which kicks off on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, will take Dr. Bawumia to all 276 constituencies across the country, according to a statement issued by his campaign team.
The statement, signed by Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Communications Director of the Bawumia Campaign, described the exercise as a grassroots-focused engagement designed to deepen the Vice President’s connection with the party’s base.

“This tour is structured to allow Dr. Bawumia to have direct and personal interaction with polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, constituency officers (past and present), former Members of Parliament, ex-MMDCEs, patrons, and council of elders,” the statement explained.
It said the initiative reflects Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to listening, building consensus, and strengthening the NPP’s foundation from the ground up.
The campaign team also emphasised its commitment to promoting issue-based engagement and civil discourse throughout the flagbearer race.
While acknowledging the enthusiasm and vibrant debates that have greeted the upcoming internal contest, the statement cautioned against the growing use of insults and personal attacks among party communicators and supporters.
“Such conduct is not in the spirit of the NPP and runs counter to the values of unity, respect, and decency that we hold dear,” it said.
In line with this, the campaign outlined a set of directives to guide all its communicators, volunteers, and supporters:
Refrain from insults and personal attacks: The team urged members to avoid any form of derogatory comments or character attacks directed at other aspirants, their families, or supporters.
Ground all communications in facts and substance: Members were encouraged to base their arguments on verifiable information and comparative analysis of policies, competence, and leadership records.
Uphold the dignity of the NPP: The campaign stressed that internal competition should strengthen, not divide, the party. “Our communications must reflect unity and respect,” it added.
Dr. Bawumia’s team expressed confidence that when the conversation remains focused on ideas and performance, his record and vision will resonate powerfully with delegates.
“We believe in the superiority of Dr. Bawumia’s message and his vision for our party and nation. When the debate is based on issues, his qualifications, experience, and transformative ideas will speak for themselves,” the statement said.
The campaign urged all supporters to demonstrate maturity and discipline in their conduct as the NPP moves toward its 2028 electoral goal.
“Let us campaign as one united family, driven by respect, integrity, and a focus on what truly matters to the future of the NPP and Ghana,” the statement urged.
