The Presidential Elections Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced a nationwide constituency album verification and validation exercise as part of preparations for the party’s presidential primary slated for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

In a statement signed by the Committee’s Secretary, William Yamoah, the exercise is scheduled to run from Sunday, October 20, to Thursday, October 31, 2025, to authenticate the voter register (album) to ensure a free, fair, transparent, and credible election.

The statement said a verification team from the NPP national secretariat, together with committee members, will visit each region to validate constituency voter registers in close collaboration with local party executives.

The statement emphasised that the exercise will be conducted daily between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and that presidential aspirants must nominate one accredited representative per constituency to join the validation process.

“All aspirants are hereby advised to submit the names and contact numbers of their duly accredited representatives for each constituency to the committee by Friday, October 17, 2025,” the statement said, adding that only accredited representatives will be allowed at the validation centres.

Aspirants or their accredited representatives who observe any irregularities during the process have three days after completion in any constituency to file a written complaint with the committee for review.

The committee urged all constituency validation members to be punctual on their scheduled dates to facilitate a smooth and efficient exercise.

Members of each constituency validation committee include the Constituency Chairman of the Council of Elders, Chairperson, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Organiser, Women’s Organiser, Research and Elections Officer, IT Officer, and representatives of the presidential aspirants. A former constituency executive may also be invited to verify historical data.

Regional TESCON Coordinators have also been directed to work with regional party leaders and validation teams to ensure accurate capturing and validation of TESCON members within their constituencies.

The statement cautioned against any acts of disruption, chaos, or interference, stressing that members who have forfeited their membership under Article 3(9)(1) of the party’s constitution are excluded from the exercise.

The Committee expressed confidence in the cooperation of all stakeholders, assuring party members that the process will produce a credible and reliable voter register.

“Together, we shall deliver a register that upholds the credibility and integrity of the electoral process,” the statement added.
