The Ashanti Youth Alliance (AYA) has warned presidential aspirants, parliamentary candidates, and national and regional executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against including Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, in any campaign activities within the Ashanti Region.

In a statement, the group declared that Abronye’s conduct is inconsistent with the values of discipline, respect, and unity that define the NPP’s stronghold region.

According to AYA, the Ashanti Region — described as the ‘heart and soul of the NPP’ — will not tolerate behaviour that undermines party cohesion.

“The Ashanti Region stands as a land built on discipline, cultural pride, and respect for leadership. Unfortunately, Abronye’s recent outbursts and conduct run completely contrary to these cherished values,” the statement said.

“Our message is simple: respect our elders, uphold our values, and promote unity, not insults.”

Ashanti Youth Alliance insisted that any campaign team that attempts to bring Abronye into the region will face resistance from the youth group, emphasizing that political platforms in the region are not a playground for reckless behaviour.

The group stressed that the NPP’s chances in the 2028 elections depend heavily on unity and mutual respect among party actors.

“We are focused on restoring peace, respect, and true grassroots mobilization — not chaos and noise,” AYA added.

“The Ashanti Region deserves leaders and campaigners who understand discipline, humility, and service, not those who thrive on controversy and disrespect.”

AYA’s warning follows a series of controversial comments recently attributed to Abronye, which many party members and traditional authorities in the Ashanti Region reportedly found offensive. The group says such behaviour threatens the party’s longstanding cohesion in its strongest electoral base.
