The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has dismissed media reports alleging that the institution has recorded losses exceeding GH¢3 billion in its first year of operation.
In a statement issued on Monday, November 17, 2025, GoldBod described the publication by Asaase Radio as entirely false, misleading, and deliberately contrived to undermine the agency’s achievements and its growing contribution to Ghana’s economic recovery.
According to the statement, the Gold Board has posted significant financial surpluses since its establishment, contrary to claims of heavy losses. The institution noted that its quarterly financial statements, which will soon be published on its official website, will confirm its strong performance.
GoldBod urged the public to disregard the report, which it described as mischievous and unethical. It also called on Asaase Radio to retract the story and issue an unqualified apology for misleading the public.
The statement reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and strengthening Ghana’s mineral revenue management framework.
