The highly anticipated court appearance of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and seven others in the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) scandal has been postponed, after the High Court failed to sit on the scheduled date of Monday, November 24, 2025.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), which had earlier announced that all eight accused persons would be arraigned before the Criminal Division of the High Court, confirmed the adjournment in a public update on its official Facebook page.
The OSP notice stated: “CR/0106/2026 Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta & 7 Ors. This case has been adjourned as the Court would not sit on the originally scheduled date of 24 November 2025. A new date would be communicated to the Republic and the Accused Persons.”

The adjournment means the 78 charges filed by the OSP, including conspiracy to influence the procurement process and alleged violations of the Public Procurement Act, will be heard at a later date.
The accused persons are: Ken Ofori-Atta, former Minister for Finance; Dr Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, former GRA Commissioner-General; Emmanuel Kofi Nti, former GRA Commissioner-General; Isaac Crentsil, senior GRA official; Kwadwo Damoa, senior GRA official; Ernest Akore, former Technical Advisor at the Finance Ministry; Evans Adusei, owner of SML; and Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML)
Their anticipated appearance was expected to signal a major step in the OSP’s high-profile prosecution over the controversial GRA–SML revenue assurance contracts, a case that has dominated national discourse.
The GRA–SML contract scandal has sparked widespread debate on procurement transparency, institutional oversight, and accountability in public financial management.
The OSP’s case alleges systemic breaches in the award and execution of the revenue assurance contracts, which had drawn scrutiny from anti-corruption groups and civil society.
With the court unable to sit today, both the state prosecutors and defence teams must now await a new date, expected to be announced by the High Court in the coming days.
