Nigerian music superstar Peter Okoye, one-half of the legendary P-Square duo, has lauded Ghanaian reggae and dancehall icon Stonebwoy, describing him as an exceptional artist who authentically represents Ghana and the African continent on the world stage.

“Stonebwoy is a king of the stage. I’ve seen him perform and I’ve been with him in the studio. What he represents is real and good. He represents you guys accurately and, I would say, Africa in general,” Peter stated.

Speaking to the media upon his arrival in Ghana ahead of Stonebwoy’s BhimFest, Peter Okoye praised Stonebwoy’s stagecraft, creativity and originality, highlighting his consistency and global impact.

He noted that his admiration for Stonebwoy goes beyond performance, emphasising the Ghanaian star’s discipline, values and commitment to projecting a positive African identity through music. According to him, Stonebwoy deserves to be celebrated and protected because his art reflects authenticity and excellence.

Sharing a personal encounter, Peter narrated how Stonebwoy once broke into a spontaneous studio performance while he casually strummed a guitar, unaware that the moment was being recorded. He described the moment as “purely organic and inspiring,” reinforcing his desire to collaborate with Stonebwoy.

Peter Okoye also disclosed that the pair came close to collaborating after he personally reached out with a proposal for a joint project — an idea Stonebwoy warmly welcomed.

Meanwhile, Stonebwoy is gearing up to celebrate 10 years of the Bhim brand with a historic concert at the Accra Sports Stadium today, December 24.

The concert is expected to attract thousands of fans and feature top-tier local and international performers. The event marks a decade of Stonebwoy’s dominance as one of Africa’s most influential music exports.
