Tunisia made a perfect start to their TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 campaign with an impressive 3–1 win over Uganda on Tuesday evening at the Annex Olympic Stadium of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
The Carthage Eagles seized early control of the encounter and broke the deadlock in the 10th minute through Elyes Skhiri, who finished off a beautifully executed team move with precision.

Tunisia continued to dominate possession and dictate tempo, and their superiority was rewarded again in the 40th minute when Elias Achouri calmly slotted home to extend the lead before halftime.
After the break, Samy Trabelsi’s side maintained their discipline, organisation and attacking threat.
Achouri struck again in the 64th minute with a composed finish to complete his brace and effectively seal the contest for Tunisia.
Uganda managed to pull one back in stoppage time through Denis Omedi, capitalising on a brief defensive lapse, but it proved nothing more than a consolation as Tunisia comfortably closed out the match.
With this commanding performance, Tunisia announce themselves as serious contenders in Group C and send a strong statement of intent for the rest of the tournament.
