Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, says new polling data suggests that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming presidential primary will be far more competitive than the party’s 2023 contest.
In the 2023 primary, former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia secured a decisive victory with 61.47%, while Kennedy Ohene Agyapong followed with 37.4%.
However, speaking on TV3’s Key Points on Saturday, December 27, ahead of the party’s January 31, 2026, primary, Mr Dankwah said the latest survey indicates a much closer race.

According to the December survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics, Dr Bawumia remains in a commanding position and continues to lead the race, moving closer to the 50 per cent mark as the contest approaches.
In the “likely voters” poll, Dr Bawumia leads with 45%, while Kennedy Agyapong follows with 31%. Bryan Acheampong polled 3 per cent, while Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum and Kwabena Agyapong recorded negligible support.
Despite Bawumia’s lead, the poll revealed a significant number of undecided delegates, with 20 per cent either unwilling to disclose their choice or yet to decide.
The survey sampled about 3,000 delegates through random computer-assisted telephone interviews.
It further showed Kennedy Agyapong recording a 13 percentage-point gain since November, while Dr Bawumia strengthened his position by two percentage points, edging closer to the winning threshold.
