National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has assured supporters that the party does not take the confidence placed in it by Ghanaians for granted following the December 2024 general elections.
He praised the people of Wenchi for their impressive support for the NDC in both the presidential and parliamentary elections, noting that their votes played a crucial role in the party’s national victory.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah made these remarks while addressing community stakeholders and party members at Nkonsia in the Wenchi Constituency as part of his two-day “Thank You” tour of the Bono Region.

Thank you tour
Congratulating residents for their steadfast support in 2024, the NDC Chairman urged them to stay united and committed to the party’s vision of development.
“It is the responsibility of the people to help restore Wenchi to its former glory,” he said, adding that although the task ahead may be difficult, determination and collective effort would yield results.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah further disclosed that the government is fully aware of the poor road network in the area and has already taken steps to address the situation. He cited the awarding of contracts for the Wenchi–Wa Road, the inclusion of the Wenchi–Sampa Road under the government’s “Big Push” infrastructure initiative, and plans to improve the Nsawkaw–Berekum Road.
According to him, the completion of these projects will significantly transform Wenchi and enhance connectivity with other parts of the Bono Region and beyond.
The Member of Parliament for Wenchi, Alhaji Haruna Seidu, also addressed the gathering, stating that the constituency had experienced notable improvements within just one year of the NDC-led government.
He attributed the progress to effective leadership and renewed focus on development at the local level.
The Wenchi Akyeamehene, Nana Damoah Koasane Adusi Poku Kafabaae IV, lauded the government for its ongoing development initiatives.
He, however, appealed to authorities to prioritise youth employment, stressing that empowering the youth was key to driving sustainable socio-economic development.
