A delegation from the Majority Caucus in Parliament, led by the Second Deputy Whip, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, has paid a condolence visit to the widow and family of the late Naser Toure Mahama, following his recent passing.

The delegation conveyed the sympathy of the Speaker of Parliament, the Majority Leader, and members of the House, assuring the family of Parliament’s continued support during their time of grief.

Speaking on behalf of the leadership, Comfort Doyoe said the visit was meant to honour the memory of a colleague who served with dedication and humility.

“We are here on behalf of the Speaker of Parliament and the Majority Leader to tell you that the whole Parliament is with you. Your husband was a good brother, a good friend, a good chairman, and a colleague whose kindness will always remain in our hearts,” she said.

Ms Doyoe explained that the Majority Leader was unable to attend in person due to an emergency engagement but had mandated her to represent him.

She emphasised that the late Naser Toure Mahama played a key role in parliamentary work, particularly in presenting committee budgets during the previous Parliament.

“Little did we know that he would not join us in this session of Parliament. We least expected his passing,” she added.

Members of the delegation also described the late MP as a unifying figure who promoted harmony and cooperation in the House.

“The way your husband collaborated with us to work in harmony in the House will always be remembered. We will not forget him,” Ms Doyoe said.

Responding on behalf of the family, Yussif Issaka Jajah, MP for Ayawaso North, expressed appreciation to Parliament and all well-wishers for their support.

“We want to say a very big thank you to all of you colleagues who have made it possible to be here this morning,” he said.

Naser Toure Mahama passed away on January 4, 2026, and was buried the following day in accordance with Islamic rites.  A week later, the final funeral was held at the National Mosque.

The delegation reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to standing by the family in the days ahead, assuring them of ongoing prayers and support.

“Our condolences are with you, and our prayers are with you,” Ms Doyoe stated.

The delegation later donated an amount of GH¢100,000.00 to the widow and family to support their expenses.
