Hugo Ekitike has revealed that he never hesitated before joining Liverpool last summer, despite attracting interest from several top European clubs.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, the French forward said the opportunity to move to the reigning Premier League champions made his decision easy.
“First of all, because they were champions last season,” Ekitike explained. “You are joining the best team in England. How can you say no? The players, the style of play, everything suited me. I could see myself playing in this team. For me, it was the best choice and a straightforward decision.”

Liverpool paid €95 million to secure his services from Eintracht Frankfurt, and the striker has already begun to justify the hefty investment with impressive performances.
Ekitike has scored 15 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions, including 10 goals in 21 Premier League matches, making him one of the club’s standout performers this season.
His strong start at Anfield reflects his belief in Liverpool’s project, squad quality, and playing philosophy, which he says perfectly match his ambitions as he continues to develop at the highest level.
