Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has vowed to work at all times to ensure that we win power in 2028.

“I will not sleep. I will work day and night to bring power back to the NPP,” he said.

Dr. Bawumia gave the assurance on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, when a group of party delegates paid a courtesy call on him at his private residence, expressing their confidence in his leadership and vision for the party.

He reaffirmed his determination to lead the party back to power in the 2028 general elections, pledging to work relentlessly to secure victory.

Addressing the delegation, the former Vice President praised them for their support, describing their action as timely and crucial to the future of the NPP.

According to him, the renewed confidence from party members has reshaped public perception and strengthened the party’s position ahead of the next polls.

“You have saved the party by your action. The message is out, and in 2028, the same narrative cannot be used against us again. Instead, it will give us strength,” Dr Bawumia stated.

He assured party faithful that their trust in him would be met with unwavering commitment and sacrifice.

Dr Bawumia further stressed that unity within the party would be a decisive factor in the next election cycle, noting that internal divisions and low voter turnout contributed to the party’s setback in 2024.

“When you look at the data, we have more numbers than the NDC. All we need is unity. In 2024, some of our members did not vote. If we can bring everyone on board, we can win,” he noted.

He described current party activities as part of a broader rebuilding process and urged supporters to remain actively involved.

“Our task is clear. We are now moving to phase two of our rebuilding. I appeal to all of you to support us in this fight,” Dr Bawumia added.
