The appointment places a seasoned Customs professional with over three decades of experience in revenue mobilisation, border protection, and trade facilitation at the helm of the Division.

His leadership in that role contributed to stronger border security systems and improved compliance across Ghana’s major trade corridors.
Over the years, Mr. Kanor has held several senior positions nationwide, including Sector Commander at the Kotoka International Airport, Wa Collections, and Chief Revenue Officer in multiple jurisdictions.
In these roles, he led intelligence-driven operations that disrupted smuggling syndicates, uncovered invoice under-declaration schemes, and dismantled criminal networks involved in vehicle identity manipulation. These efforts significantly enhanced revenue performance and reinforced national security.
Mr. Kanor has also played a key role in Customs modernisation, contributing to the rollout of electronic valuation systems and other strategic reforms aimed at improving efficiency and reducing cargo clearance delays.
His work has helped align Ghana’s Customs administration with international best practices, while promoting smoother and more transparent trade flows.
His appointment is expected to strengthen Customs administration, deepen regulatory compliance, and support economic growth through a more efficient and secure trading environment.
The Board, Management, and staff of the GRA have congratulated Mr. Kanor on his new role and expressed appreciation to the outgoing Commissioner, Glover Ashong Annan, for his leadership and dedicated service to the Division.
