The Information Services Department (ISD) has invited media houses across the country to apply for accreditation to cover Ghana’s 69th Independence Day National Parade, scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2026.
The parade will take place at the forecourt of Jubilee House in Accra.
In a statement signed by Winnifred N. Mahama, Acting Director of the Information Services Department, the ISD invited all interested media organisations to submit applications for accreditation to ensure effective coverage of the national event.
According to the statement, interested media houses are required to submit an official letter of assignment from their organisations, indicating the names and contact details of nominated journalists and camera crew. Applications must be submitted via email to accreditation@isd.gov.gh

The deadline for submission is Friday, February 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Due to limited space and the high volume of expected applications, the ISD noted that each media house will be allocated only one accreditation.
Media organisations with existing accreditation to cover the Presidency may, however, use their assigned reporters for the event.
All accredited photographers and videographers are expected to arrive at the venue by 6:45 a.m. for security clearance and positioning.
Media personnel are advised to display their accreditation badges at all times and to strictly follow instructions from security officers and media liaison officials.
They are also required to remain within designated media zones throughout the programme.
On equipment usage, only professional cameras and video equipment will be permitted at the venue.
The use of drones or aerial photography devices will not be allowed without prior written approval. Tripods and monopods must be positioned only in designated areas, while stabilisers and gimbals will be permitted under specified guidelines.
The statement cautioned that media personnel must not move during key ceremonial moments, including the national anthem, presidential address, and other official proceedings.
Practitioners are also expected to remain within their assigned zones and avoid obstructing the view of dignitaries, guests, live broadcast cameras, and fellow journalists.
“No live streaming from personal mobile devices or by individual media personnel will be permitted,” the statement stressed.
The ISD further announced that the official live video feed will be provided by the Presidency’s Communications Directorate and Ghana Television.
The feed will be made available to all interested broadcasters.
Media houses wishing to broadcast or stream the event live are to indicate their interest when submitting their accreditation applications.
Concerning security arrangements, only accredited official photographers and videographers will be allowed access to restricted zones, including the Presidential dais, security checkpoints, and VIP seating areas.
Accreditation is non-transferable, and late arrivals may not be admitted. All media personnel are also expected to dress in formal or business attire.
For further information, interested media organisations have been asked to contact the Media Liaison Officer, Samuel Antwi, on 024694 8885 or via email at accreditation@isd.gov.gh
