The Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Atta Issah, has been honoured with the prestigious National Progress & Human Capital Catalyst Honour in recognition of his transformative leadership and commitment to development.
The award followed an assessment conducted by the Confederation of Governance Assessment Institute in collaboration with the Bureau of Research on Governance, Commerce and Administration, with endorsement from Isaac Rockson of the World Diplomatic Federation.
In a citation accompanying the award, organisers described Mr. Attah Issah as a transformative leader whose dedication to infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment is directly driving national progress.

“His admirable, action-oriented approach transforms Sagnarigu through sustainable projects, creating a tangible, prosperous future,” the statement noted.
The award highlights the MP’s strong focus on projects that improve living standards across his constituency, including healthcare facilities, potable water systems, and classroom blocks.
Beyond infrastructure, he has also been recognised for investing in people through skill training, business support, and health screening initiatives.
“His efforts extend beyond infrastructure into empowerment, providing skill training, seed capital for businesses, and comprehensive health screening,” the citation emphasised.
Described as a proactive leader, Mr. Issah’s governance style has earned him the title of Northern Regional MP of the Year 2025.
The Awarding bodies say his work offers a blueprint for accelerating development nationwide.
“This award highlights an invaluable asset whose proactive work acts as a model for advancing national progress and building a more industrialised future,” the statement concluded.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Issah expressed gratitude to Allah, his constituents, and national leadership, while reaffirming his commitment to service. He emphasised that his political journey and achievements would not have been possible without the trust and backing of his constituents.
The MP pledged to continue serving with dedication, humility, and respect for all.
“I promise to serve with diligence, commitment to duty, and respect for all manner of persons,” he assured, and added that the recognition would serve as motivation to work even harder in delivering development to his constituency.
Mr. Atta Issah also extended gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for his support and leadership, crediting the government for enabling his work.
“All the things that have been done were through the effort of the President,” he said, adding that governance under the NDC has made his work easier.
He further thanked the leadership of Parliament, particularly the Majority Caucus, for their guidance and patience with first-time legislators.
Mr. Atta Issah expressed optimism about the future, stressing the importance of collective effort in achieving development goals.
“This is just the beginning of many things to happen. It is my considered opinion that we will succeed together,” he stated.
