Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has declared that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must snatch power in 2028 general elections and not beyond.
He insisted the party cannot afford to delay its political comeback beyond that date.
Speaking at a two-day Minority Caucus workshop on Tuesday, held under the theme “The United Front: Forging a Cohesive Parliamentary Strategy Post-Primaries,” Mr. Annoh-Dompreh urged party members to unite, close ranks, and work tirelessly to restore the NPP to government.

“If there is any time that this party should take back the reins of governance, it is certainly 2028 and not beyond 2028,” he stated.
According to the Minority Whip, the hopes of millions of Ghanaians, including farmers, market women, teachers, nurses, and public servants, rest on the NPP’s ability to reorganise and present a credible alternative to the current government.
He said the party’s tradition has consistently demonstrated its capacity to transform Ghana’s economy and deliver development.
“We have to hold hands, band together, and close ranks because the hope of the multitude of Ghanaians rests on us,” he told members of the caucus.
Mr. Annoh-Dompreh noted that the NPP has made significant progress in rebuilding following the 2024 general elections.
The Minority Caucus in Parliament, he said, has become stronger, more agile, and better informed, despite its smaller numbers in the House.
According to him, the caucus has distinguished itself by effectively scrutinising government policies and keeping pressure on the Executive.
The Nsawam Adoagyiri MP argued that many Ghanaians continue to regard the NPP as the political tradition most closely associated with national development.
According to him, visits to communities across the country reveal strong public belief in the party’s ability to turn around Ghana’s fortunes.
“Victory is in our hands, and we cannot afford to let power in 2028 slip by,” he declared.
Mr. Annoh-Dompreh urged party leaders, MPs, and grassroots supporters to remain determined and trust in divine guidance as they work toward electoral victory.
“Whatever it takes, Inshallah, by the grace of the Almighty, the NPP must go back to where they belong,” he said.
