The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has moved to evaluate its performance in the 2024 general elections by forming an Election Review Committee.
The National Council established the committee during a meeting on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Chaired by former Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Prof. Mike Oquaye, the committee brings together notable figures from academia, politics, and law. Its mandate is to analyze the party’s election performance and submit a detailed report within three months.

General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua encouraged party members and stakeholders to support the committee’s work. He emphasized that the committee would engage stakeholders to identify factors behind the party’s performance and recommend strategies for improvement.
“We urge all party members to cooperate fully and provide the necessary support,” Kodua said.
In a related decision, the NPP National Council appointed leaders for its parliamentary group for the 9th Parliament, adhering to Article 14(2) of the party’s constitution.

By forming the Election Review Committee and appointing new parliamentary leaders, the NPP reaffirmed its commitment to rebuilding and strengthening its position ahead of future elections.
Party officials called on members to remain optimistic, expressing confidence that these steps would reinvigorate the party and restore its competitive edge.
