The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken a decisive step to reinforce its internal organisation by formally constituting 30 Committees to drive policy development, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.

The newly inaugurated Committees include both Standing and Sector Committees, approved during a joint meeting of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council held on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

According to a statement signed by Justin Kodua Frimpong, the establishment of the Committees is part of a broader effort to strengthen party structures and reposition the NPP for effective political organisation and future national governance.

The party explained that the Standing Committees were constituted under Article 10(2)(6) of the NPP Constitution, while the Sector Committees were formed in accordance with Articles 10(3)(8) and 14(5).

The move underscores the NPP’s commitment to operating within its constitutional framework while building a robust and efficient institutional structure.

The statement noted that the committees will provide expert leadership and guidance across a wide range of sectors and thematic areas.

These bodies are expected to support the party’s long-term strategy by shaping policy ideas, improving stakeholder relations, and enhancing operational effectiveness.

“The composition of these Standing and Sector Committees forms part of the Party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its internal structures, deepen policy development, enhance stakeholder engagement, and reposition the Party for effective political organisation and national governance,” the statement said.

The formation of the committees is seen as a significant milestone in the NPP’s rebuilding efforts as the party seeks to sharpen its policy focus and strengthen grassroots and national structures.
