The Ministry for the Interior has officially declared Wednesday, May 27, 2026, as a statutory public holiday throughout Ghana in observance of Eid-Ul-Adha.
In a statement issued Friday and signed by Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the Ministry urged all Ghanaians to mark the day accordingly.

*“The general public is hereby informed that Wednesday, 27th May 2026, marks Eid-Ul-Adha, which is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country,”* the statement read.
Eid-Ul-Adha, widely known as the Festival of Sacrifice, ranks among the holiest celebrations in the Islamic calendar.
Muslims around the world—including Ghana—observe the day with special prayers, acts of charity, and communal gatherings.
