The newly elected executive Presbytery officers of Assemblies of God, Ghana, led by General Superintendent Rev. Stephen Wengam, have paid a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama at his residence in Accra.
The visit was to formally introduce the newly elected church leaders to the President and express their appreciation for his attendance as Special Guest of Honour at the church’s recently concluded 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting.
The meeting was held at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh, Central Region, from August 18 to 22, 2026.

The delegation included Assistant General Superintendent-elect, Rev. Kwadwo Boateng Bempah; General Secretary-elect, Rev. Albert Anane; and Mrs Monica Wengam, wife of the General Superintendent and National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association.
Also present were Rev. (Rtd.) Ernest Agyei, Special Aide to the General Superintendent, and Mr Fuseini Donkor, Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations at the National Service Authority and Chairman of the Board of Teen Challenge of Assemblies of God, Ghana.
After introducing the newly elected officers, Rev. Wengam expressed appreciation to President Mahama for his continued support for Assemblies of God, Ghana.
He also thanked the President for his loyal membership of the church and acknowledged the diverse support he and the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, have provided to the church.
Rev. Wengam pledged the church’s continued prayers and support for the President, the First Lady, the First Family and the government.
President Mahama congratulated the newly elected Executive Presbytery officers and wished them success in their respective roles.
He also commended Rev. Stephen Wengam for what he described as his visionary and bold leadership of Assemblies of God, Ghana.
According to the President, Rev. Wengam’s leadership had contributed significantly to the growth of the church and had earned him an overwhelming endorsement for a second term as General Superintendent.
President Mahama further noted that Assemblies of God, Ghana, had experienced significant growth since Rev. Wengam assumed office as General Superintendent.
The courtesy call provided an opportunity for the newly elected leadership of the church to strengthen its relationship with the President and reaffirm its commitment to supporting the nation through prayer and other forms of engagement.
