The 2026 CSSPS placement results will be released on Friday, September 4, the Ministry of Education has confirmed.
The delay followed difficulties encountered by thousands of candidates who were unable to upload their information onto the CSSPS platform within the initial deadline.
Press Secretary and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Hashmin Mohammed, however, confirmed on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show that the placement process had now been completed.
“We are set to release the placement results tomorrow [Friday],” he said.

According to Mr Mohammed, the Ministry had initially intended to release the 2026 CSSPS placement results the previous week.
However, officials discovered that approximately 20,000 candidates had been unable to upload their data onto the placement platform.
The Ministry subsequently extended the deadline to allow the affected candidates to complete the process and be considered for placement.
“When we thought we could release it as of last week, unfortunately, we had some students who were unable to load their data into the CSSPS system. And then, looking at the number, the number was huge,” Mr Mohammed explained.
The Education Ministry spokesperson disclosed that approximately 18,000 of the affected candidates had successfully uploaded their information following the extension.
“As I am speaking to you now, we’ve had about 18,000 who have entered their data into the system,” he said.
The remaining candidates, numbering about 2,000, are from special needs schools and will be handled under a separate placement arrangement.
Mr Mohammed explained that candidates from special needs schools do not have to go through the same choice confirmation process as other candidates.
“The remaining 2,000, we know where they are. They are the special needs schools. And special needs schools, they don’t need to go through the choice confirmation,” he said.
According to him, the affected schools will submit their lists to the Ministry, after which the candidates will be manually entered into the CSSPS system.
“Their schools only give us the list, and then we place them manually into the system because their schools are already defined,” he explained.
The Ministry of Education said the decision to extend the deadline was based on its commitment to ensuring fairness in the placement process.
Mr Mohammed said the extension was necessary to ensure that qualified candidates who had experienced technical or other difficulties were not excluded from placement.
“If we are operating on an equity-based system, we needed to offer them the opportunity to extend the date so that they would be able to upload their data into the system for them to be placed into a school,” he said.
With the placement process now completed, the Ministry of Education is expected to officially publish the 2026 CSSPS placement results on Friday, September 4.
The release will allow candidates and their parents or guardians to check the schools to which they have been placed and proceed with the next stage of the admission process.
The development is expected to bring relief to thousands of students who have been waiting for their second-cycle school placements.
