The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the National Harmonised Prospectus for the 2026/2027 academic year, outlining the items required by students preparing to enrol in Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country.
The 2026/2027 SHS prospectus covers requirements for both boarding and day students and is intended to guide parents, guardians and prospective students as they prepare for admission.
In a statement issued on Thursday, September 3, 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the Ghana Education Service urged parents and students to review the prospectus and make the necessary preparations ahead of the new academic year.

The GES has also directed Senior High Schools and other relevant stakeholders to strictly comply with the requirements outlined in the National Harmonised Prospectus.
According to the Service, adherence to the prospectus is necessary to promote a smooth, standardised and efficient admission process for students entering SHS.
The directive is expected to ensure that schools apply uniform requirements during the admission and enrolment process.
The release of the 2026/2027 SHS prospectus comes ahead of the school placement exercise and is intended to help parents prepare the required items before students report to their respective schools.
The GES said the prospectus guides the essential items needed by fresh students to begin their SHS education adequately prepared.
Parents and guardians are therefore encouraged to obtain and carefully review the National Harmonised Prospectus before purchasing items for their wards.
The harmonised prospectus applies to both boarding students and day students.
GES said parents and students should take note of the specified requirements and prepare accordingly to avoid difficulties during the admission process.
The Service further urged schools and stakeholders to adhere to the approved requirements to maintain consistency across Senior High Schools nationwide.
With the 2026/2027 SHS admission and placement process approaching, the GES has encouraged parents and prospective students to begin preparations early.
