The Minority in Parliament has pledged to take action on the reported financial malpractice in a contract between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML).
The contract, he said, is a money heist and assured Ghanaians the minority will take appropriate action in the interest of Ghanaian people.
Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni uncovered the scandal within the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government, prompting the Minority to express both concern and a determination to address the alleged malfeasance.
The reported grand corruption scheme, masquerading as revenue assurance for the GRA is suspected to be a covert operation diverting taxpayers’ money into the private pockets of select high-ranking government officials.
This revelation adds to the string of scandals that have plagued the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration over the last seven years.
A statement issued by Minority leader Ato Forson noted that while the Caucus is concerned, it is not surprised at the alleged stealing syndicate uncovered in this latest investigative work.
“This is typical of the endless scandals the people of Ghana have seen in the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government over the last seven years,” he stated.
