Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has retained the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono Regional Chairmanship after securing a landslide victory in the party’s regional elections held on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Abronye polled 201 votes, beating his closest challenger, Yaw Afful, who secured 44 votes, to win by a commanding 157-vote margin.
Joseph Mensah polled 31 votes, while Afari Gyan and Kwabena Oppong failed to secure a single vote in the five-way contest.

The victory gives Abronye another mandate to lead the NPP’s regional structures and oversee the party’s organisational and political activities in the Bono Region as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
In the other key contests, Kate Amponsah Agyare won the First Vice Chairmanship with 252 votes, while Kwaku Antwi Agyei emerged as Second Vice Chairman with 123 votes.
Kofi Ofosu Boateng was elected Regional Secretary after polling 187 votes against Asare Baffour Ebenezer’s 93 votes.
Randy Ashraf Issahaku won the Deputy Secretary position with 145 votes, narrowly defeating Stephen Opuni, who polled 135 votes. One ballot was rejected.
Samira Sulley won the Women’s Organiser position with 142 votes, beating Doris Asomah by three votes.
Dauda Ibrahim Bamba emerged as Youth Organiser with 102 votes, followed by Shadrach Abrefah Mensah with 92, Joeffrey Kwarteng Brobbey with 58, and Alhaji Baba Suwari with 29 votes.
Faisal Osman Mohammed won the Nasara Organiser position with 177 votes to Wahab Bashiru’s 101, with two ballots rejected.
Veronica Tuffour was elected Treasurer with 131 votes, ahead of Henry Osei with 124 and Kassim Siaka with 25 votes.
Abdul Razak Oppong secured the Regional Organiser position with 229 votes, defeating Darlington Bill Boampong, who polled 52 votes.
Fahd Osman won the Communications position with 170 votes against Abubakari Yakubu’s 111 votes.
This decisive victory for Abronye DC is expected to strengthen his position within the NPP’s Bono Regional leadership as the party continues its reorganisation and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2028 elections.
