Minority Leader Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markinbhas filed fresh defamation suits against the the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei.

The fresh legal actions follow earlier court proceedings involving the Minority Leader and the two government appointees over statements he considers defamatory.

In a press statement issued by his solicitor, F. Paa Kwesi Abaidoo, the lawyer confirmed the commencement of fresh proceedings against Sammy Gyamfi over statements allegedly made during the Government Accountability Series and on Joy FM’s Newsfile programme.

According to Mr Abaidoo, the writ against the GoldBod chief executive, numbered GJ/0045/2027, was filed at the Accra High Court on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

The Minority leader also filed a writ at the Accra High Court against Mr Adjei on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, following the discontinuance of the earlier suit at the Achimota Circuit Court.

The new case, numbered GJ/0061/2027, concerns the alleged defamatory statements made by Mr Adjei on Peace FM.

The two defamation suits form part of the Minority Leader’s efforts to pursue legal redress over statements he considers defamatory.

Mr Abaidoo said the new writ against Mr Gyamfi was filed despite the legal team’s disagreement with an earlier High Court decision setting aside the previous writ.

He explained that the fresh action had been initiated in accordance with the court’s latest interpretation of the applicable rules.
