The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, has called on pastors, leaders and members of the church to intensify preparations for the successful hosting of the 10th Triennial Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship in Ghana.
Rev. Wengam made the call on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Cedar Mountain Chapel in Accra, where he officially launched the 2026 World Congress at the local church level.
The global congress, scheduled for October 14 to 16, 2026, is expected to bring together about 10,000 pastors, ministers and church leaders from Assemblies of God churches around the world.
Ghana hosts Assemblies of God World Congress for the first time
Ghana will host the Assemblies of God 2026 World Congress for the first time in the 110-year history of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship.

The main activities of the congress are expected to take place at the Independence Square and the Accra Sports Stadium.
Rev. Wengam explained that participation in the daytime sessions at Independence Square would attract a minimal fee of GH¢100 while the evening revival rallies at the Accra Sports Stadium would be free of charge.
He stressed, however, that the spiritual value of the revival rallies could not be measured in monetary terms.
“We cannot simply quantify the value of the spiritual exercise at the stadium. It is inestimable, to say the least,” he said.
‘Commissioned: One Mandate, Every Nation’
The 2026 Assemblies of God World Congress is being held under the theme, “Commissioned: One Mandate, Every Nation,” based on Matthew 28:18–20.
Rev. Wengam recalled that the Global Chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship, Rev. Dominic Yeo, officially launched the 10th Triennial Congress in Accra on November 14, 2025.
The daytime programme at Independence Square will feature seminars, workshops and working sessions, while the evening programme will focus on revival rallies at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The General Superintendent urged members of Assemblies of God Ghana to turn out in large numbers for the revival rallies, describing their participation as an important demonstration of appreciation for the opportunity to host the international event.
“We as members of this great church in Ghana have a rare responsibility imposed by heaven to fill every available space at the Accra Sports Stadium,” he said.
He also encouraged pastors, deacons, deaconesses, church leaders and members to use the congress as an opportunity to positively project Assemblies of God Ghana to the international community.
Rev. Wengam described Ghana’s selection as host as an honour to the church and a demonstration of God’s grace.
He said the congress would not only glorify God but also serve as an opportunity to revitalise and strengthen the Assemblies of God Fellowship worldwide.
Rev. Wengam said Ghana would be under the global spotlight during the congress and urged the church to showcase its best to delegates and visitors from around the world.
He noted that the event would bring benefits beyond tourism, business, investment and international visibility, describing it primarily as a platform for advancing the spiritual mission of Assemblies of God worldwide.
The 2026 World Congress will also provide an opportunity for church leaders to strategise towards achieving the MM33 vision of planting one million churches by 2033, as part of efforts to commemorate 2,000 years since the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
According to Rev. Wengam, the ambitious vision cannot be achieved by church leadership alone and requires renewed commitment and collaboration between leaders and members.
Church growth agenda
Rev. Wengam said the Assemblies of God Ghana Transformational Agenda was already focused on planting more churches, building legacy temples and evangelising the nation.
He urged members to intensify their commitment and move the initiative “to the highest spiritual gear”.
The General Superintendent said the World Congress presents an important opportunity for the church to strengthen its global mission while mobilising its members for greater evangelism and church growth.
The launch at Cedar Mountain Chapel marks the beginning of local-level mobilisation for the 2026 World Congress, with the message expected to be taken to Assemblies of God congregations across Ghana.
Rev. Wengam, who is also the Head Pastor of Cedar Mountain Chapel, expressed appreciation to members for their support throughout his pastoral and leadership journey.
He called for continued prayers and support towards the successful hosting of the congress.
Describing Cedar Mountain Chapel as his “Jerusalem”, Rev. Wengam expressed confidence that the church would continue to grow, expand, and attain greater spiritual heights.
He formally declared the 10th Triennial Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship launched at the local level.
“From today, pray Congress, dream Congress, think Congress, talk Congress and act Congress,” Rev. Wengam said.
